Journal with Me: Drawing the Moon

Welcome to another journal with me video taking you through a weekly spread highlighting the awe inspiring supermoon that occurred on December 3rd!

As usual, I stamp my dates with a typewriter style stamp set. If you're curious about any of the supplies I use, they will be listed below.

To draw the moon, I used a stippling technique, looking at a NASA photo for reference. Five minutes in, I remembered that I have no patience for stippling, but I perservered until the end. I like that it ended up looking like a stamp, to match the printer's fist sticker. The moon was extra luminous, and seemed closer to the earth than usual last Sunday. It was spectacular, even on the nights leading up to the full moon. Sometimes I walk the dogs in the park at night, especially in the winter months, when darkness falls early. It was nice to have our path illuminated by an extra bright moon.

I printed this little hand onto a clear sticker sheet and cut it out, which is how I make all of my DIY stickers. I find images that are copyright free or purchase them from Etsy or Creative Market. I like how the clear sticker sheets allow the ivory color of the paper to show through. I kept the theme monochromatic this time, using marble and text washi tape.

To remember what I did throughout the week, I hastily jotted down my thoughts onto a piece of scrap paper every night, and then here I'm writing the highlights down. I'm curating my memories for my future self to look back on. It was a good week, full of puppy play dates, productivity, and time spent with my close friends.

How was your week? I hope you're all doing well!
