Dog Photos of the Day

There's no time like the present to start a new blog! I've been meaning to get my dormant website going for a long time. I find the concept of starting and maintaining a website extremely daunting (which is ironic, because I work on a website for my day job.)

I brought my camera over to the dog park to play around with my new lens—the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8. I'm super pleased with it so far. It's sharp, fast, and the fact that it's a zoom lens at f/1.8 is astonishing. I'm definitely going to be using this as my walkaround lens; I'm going to bring my camera with me everywhere. Bonus: it will be an arm workout, because this lens is heavy.

We haven't been back to the Allegheny Commons dog park since we moved out of the Mexican War Streets. We used to go there at least two or even three times a day. There's not usually a huge midday crowd, but we got to meet Tank, an Australian Cattle Dog (blue heeler) and Porter, a majestic looking long-haired pooch that sniffed Zeva a few times before trotting off to let his fur blow beautifully in the summer breeze. We also saw an old friend, Giovanni, who was looking fresh in a summer haircut.
